Lucky~!
"Today's Scorpio's best day of the week!" Sengoku Kiyosumi beamed as he walked towards the door. "No wonder I feel so lucky today!"
"Kiyosumi, where are you going?" his sister asked, replied by Sengoku's grin.
"To the park, of course!"
She shook her head. "Hitting on girls as usual..."
Sengoku ignored his sister's last sentence as he tied up his shoelaces. He stood up. "Oh yeah," he said. "It's better for you to just stay home today. And don't forget to wear orange!"
"Sure, sure," she uttered.
"Ja, itte kimasu!"
"Aa–Kiyosumi!" she called. Sengoku turned his head.
"Yeah?"
"Do you... forget about today?"
He raised an eyebrow. "Today?"
"Aah, never mind, never mind," she shook her head quickly.
Sengoku raised an eyebrow. His sister was up to something. He was about to say something else but decided not to.
"Ja, itte kimasu..."
"Itte rasshai..."
Sengoku walked merrily to the park, whistling. His sister was wrong. True, he was going to meet a girl there, but not to "hit on her" like his sister said. The girl he was meeting was one of his classmates, a transferred student from Osaka, named . She came to Tokyo a month ago, and the first time he saw her, he fell in love at the first sight. Well, he always did to other girls too, but this was different. She was different.
"Sengokun!" a girl waved as she ran towards him. He really loved it every time he heard her calling his name.
"-chan!" he waved back.
"I'm not late, am I?" she asked.
"No, of course not! I just arrived a minute ago," he replied with a smile. "Saa, shall we get going?"
"Ng!" she nodded.
First, they went to the theatre.
"I really want to see Mirror," she said when they looked at the list of movies that were playing that day.
"Mirror? Mou~ I'm scared of horror movies~" he blinked his puppy eyes. shook her head.
"Miss, two junior high tickets for Mirror please," she ordered. The woman inside the ticket box gave the tickets to them.
"Don't be mad at me if I hug you when it starts to get scary ne, -chan~" he pouted. could only laugh and shake her head. She always loved it when Sengoku started to act like a little child. He was so cute when he did!
"I'd hit your head first before you do."
"Mou~"
smiled teasingly as she patted his head slowly.
'YAY! She's doing it again! Lucky~!'
And so, the movie started. It was about a girl that could predict deaths of people around her by mirror. She first realized her "power" when she once looked at a mirror and found no one was reflected on it, although actually a man was standing right in front of it. To her surprise, she found the man hung himself at her school the next day.
"KYAAAAAA~ -chan~!!!" Sengoku wrapped his hands around , causing her face to turn ten shades of red. "It's so scary~!!"
"O–Oi oi!! Sengokun!!" she whispered embarrassedly as she felt numerous pairs of eyes were looking at them. "Quit it!!"
"Yada~! It's too scary for me~!" he said, huggling himself in her arms.
'She feels so nice...'
'His body is so warm...'
"Sengokun..." she murmured quietly. "It's all good now."
Sengoku didn't move a bit.
"Sengokun–"
"Yada~! This feels so nice..." he tightened his hug. rolled her eyes. She hit him right on his head. "Ouch!" he sat up. "What was that for?"
"Ecchi," she mumbled with a cold tone. There was still a slight blush on her face.
'Too bad... It was so nice...'
The movie finished an hour and a half later.
"It was good!" complimented as they walked out of the theatre. "Man, it was so real! Even I felt a bit scared at the climax!"
"I wonder if I can still look at the mirror after this..." Sengoku said with a grin.
"There's no way a guy like you is afraid looking at the mirror," she smirked. "You're too narcissistic."
"Hey, I just care about how I look!" he protested childishly. "Besides, narcissist is the word for Hyoutei's Atobe-san."
"Oh that arrogant guy you showed me at the tournament the other day?" she asked, followed by Sengoku's nod. "Yeah, I think you're completely right..."
"Aren't I?"
"But you're narcissistic, too!" she uttered. "I mean, what is up with that photo album you're carrying everyday in your backpack? And not to mention the comb! I mean, do you really need to comb your hair every time?"
"That's because..." he grinned and looked at her eyes. "I want to look good in front of you."
"Eh?" her heart skipped a beat. Wait a minute... Wait a minute...
Sengoku's grin widened. frowned.
"Shut up," she muttered as she poked his shoulder slowly, hiding a slight blush on her face.
'I thought he was serious for a second there...'
"Hey, I'm serious."
"Right, right, now let's find someplace to eat," she pushed Sengoku's back. "I'm SO starving..."
He sighed.
"Let's eat there," pointed to a restaurant near them.
"Wherever you'd like~!"
They sat down and ordered.
"Spaghetti Bolognaise," said to the waitress. "And large iced lemon tea, please."
"Me... Hmm... I'll just have a cup of tea," Sengoku uttered. raised an eyebrow.
"Are you on a diet or something?"
He chuckled. "Maa... Something like that."
'Uwaa... Can't tell her that I'm short on money today...'
"Sou ka..." she frowned. "But you know, if you're short on money, you can always tell me, Sengokun."
'...She knew...'
Just as soon as finished eating, Sengoku's cell phone rang.
"Moshi moshi," Sengoku said. "Ah? Onee-chan? Yeah, this is me... Huh? What do you mean now? I'm with–" he peered at , then whispered to the phone, "My girlfriend now!"
"I heard that!" demanded. 'If only he really meant it...'
"Ahahaha... So... Mou~ Do I really need to? Hhh... Fine. Yeah, Ja na." he frowned as he hung up the phone.
"Your sister?"
"Yeah," Sengoku said as he finished his tea. "She said I should go home now coz there's something really important going on..." He clasped his hands. "Gomen!"
smiled. "That's okay. I'll walk you home."
"But–"
"Ii yo."
They walked together to Sengoku's house.
"-chan, do you want to come in?" Sengoku asked when they reached in front of the front door. shook her head.
"No, I–"
"SURPRISE!!!"
The couple turned their heads to the door, surprised.
"O–Onee-chan? Okaa-san? Otou-san?!" Sengoku blinked. "What–what's going on? And what do you mean by "surprise"?"
Sengoku's sister grinned as she pushed a wheeled desk with a cake on top of it. On the cake, it was written: "Happy Birthday Sengoku Kiyosumi!"
"Birthday...?" he narrowed his eyes. "Today's my birthday...?"
He hit himself on the forehead. Of course it was! It was November 25, his fifteenth birthday! How could he forget?!
"Sengokun... It's your birthday...?" whispered. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"I forgot myself..." 'Because I was too excited to meet you today...'
"I didn't prepare anything to give you..." she looked down guiltily.
"Ii yo -chan! Like I said, I forgot about it too!"
"In that case..." she murmured with a crimson face. She took a peek at Sengoku's sister, then, mom, then dad.
"Ah, I understand. We wouldn't be disturbing," Sengoku's sister grinned as she closed the door, leaving Sengoku and outside.
"'In that case'...?"
"In that case..." she looked up, pulled Sengoku to her.
He gazed in wonder.
He felt her warm lips on his, it felt so fragrant and smooth.
He closed her eyes slowly.
"Happy birthday," she murmured embarrassedly as she pulled away.
Sengoku stared amazedly at the girl, unable to say anything.
"Ja..." she turned her body awkwardly and was about to run. Sengoku caught her hand.
"-chan...?"
She looked down. "Yes?"
He blinked. "Does that... Mean...?"
nodded sheepishly as she looked away, blushing.
Sengoku's eyes turned sparkly.
"YATTA!!" he yelled gleefully as he hugged the girl tight. "-chan likes me!! LUCKY~!"
"Se–Sengokun, don't say it that loud..." she flushed scarlet red.
"Ne, -chan," he beamed as he looked at her brownish eyes. "This is the best birthday present I've ever received! Thank you so much!"
"Eh?"
"Thank you so much..." he placed his hand on her waist and leaned in for another kiss.
